Belfast set for two TV shows

Belfast looks set to cement it’s status as the current capital of Irish boxing, as two major shows look set for the City in the coming months.

Boxnation and Frank Warren are rumoured to be exploring a July date and putting on a show that will include the likes of Commonwealth Champion Jamie Conlan as well as Warren fighters James Tennyson and Ciaran McVarnock.

Indeed, Conlan has expressed his desire to top a bill in his home town and suggested the Ulster Hall as a potential venue for a rematch with Anthony Nelson.

Matchroom and Sky were set to come to Belfast in April, but a World title fight Ricky Burns prompted them add a Glasgow show to their Spring/Summer roster meaning Eddie Hearn delayed his return to the City.

However, Irish-boxing.com believes Hearn is hatching a September return. The Matchroom boss is planning a bill topped by Ryan Burnett and that looks likely to include Jono Carroll, Luke Keeler, Tommy McCarthy and more.
