NOWHERE TO GO – David Price v Sean Turner is all or nothing

The circumstances under which Sean Turner challenged David Price were almost comical but there is nothing funny about the heavyweight clash set for Belfast on Friday October 5th.

The big men are both coming off knockout losses going into the fight at the Titanic Exhibition Centre and Liverpool’s Price has warned that there is “nowhere to go” for the loser.

Price [22(18)-5(5)] was knocked out in the fifth round by Alexander Povetkin, who challenges Anthony Joshua next, back in March while Dubliner Turner [12(8)-3(1)] was stopped in three by Nathan Gorman in June.

After this loss to Gorman – immediately after – ‘Big Sexy’ challenged his managerial stablemate Price and now the fight has been confirmed.

The Olympic bronze medallist revealed how “I actually met Sean after the Gorman fight and he looked at me with blood all over his face and told me I was next!”

“We had other offers but we’ve made the right choice here. It’s a calculated decision to fight Sean and the pressure is on.”

The big-punching but vulnerable Price is embarking on his fourth comeback while Turner has been handed another chance after seeing his stunning in over Arnold Gjergjaj be followed by decisive defeats to top prospects Filip Hrgovic and Gorman.

Price believes that it could be curtains for whoever loses at the Titanic Centre on October 5th, with their title ambitions being sunk forever

The popular Scouser outlined how “Turner lost against Nathan Gorman in his last fight so he has a point to prove. He’s hungry just like me and there are big fights for the winner. For the loser, there’s nowhere to go.

” I know he’s had a lot of good wins and a couple of losses just like me so it’s a great crossroads fight.”

Having seen his comeback delayed last month due to injury – and with so much on the line – Price is bang up for the fight.

He stated that “I’m fully motivated for this one because of the opposition. Sean Turner is a very good fighter and this is the perfect fight for me coming off my last fight.

“I feel no pressure to compete with Gorman’s victory. I’m on my own path and will stay in my own lane. I’m under no illusions – Sean Turner is a top opponent but I’m ready to do the business and I’m looking forward to getting back in there.”
