‘No Way he Wants it More’ – Dublin Heavyweight Plans Massive Croker Carty Party
Aaron Dunne Reports from the Helix
If the noise at Wednesday’s open workouts is anything to go by, this won’t just be Katie Taylor’s farewell shindig – it’ll be another Thomas Carty Party.
The Phibsborough heavyweight will be the last one to take to the ring before the Bray Bomber takes her throne – a thronged 80,000 waiting in their seats; an opportunity of a lifetime.
“There’s no words for it man, absolutely no words. I brought a mad crowd the last couple of times to the 3 Arena, they absolutely blew the roof off the place,” a visibly relaxed Carty beamed with a smile wider than the Liffey.
“God knows what Croker is gonna be like.”

Winning is the most important thing though – and the gentle giant believes he has a cutting edge. His heart.
“Desire man, desire. There’s absolutely no way in hell he wants to win this fight more than me. With this crowd, and on an historic night, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, there’s just no chance.
“People haven’t seen the best of me yet. I was only getting going when I blew my knee out. I’m back now, and I’m not planning on taking a break anytime soon.
“This is the start of a really, really good run. I’m gonna push the boat out til I can’t push the boat out anymore.
“Thank you very much folks,” Carty hails to an adoring following. “What a bleedin night, what a bleedin occassion. Roll on the Carty Party Saturday night. Let’s give Katie a proper send off, let’s go!”
