‘I’m Here to Turn Heads’ – Ravishing Ryan Ready to Steal Some Spotlight From Katie Taylor

‘Ravishing’ is planning to raise eyebrows in Croke Park this Saturday night.

Paul Ryan shares the ring with Belfast’s Paddy Gallagher on the massive Once Upon a Time bill and plans to make the most of his time in Katie Taylor’s spotlight.

The Irish middleweight champion is a talent known within boxing circles and a fighter many in the know are big on.

The Blanchardstown native now plans to show a wider audience what the fuss is about this weekend by making the most of the massive TV and Stadium audience. The unique character is planning a unique performance that will prompt a unique response.

“This is my little piece of history,” Ravishing Ryan told Irish-Boxing.com. “I’m playing a small part in it but I’m here to turn heads. I’m here to raise eyebrows.”

While Irish Icon Taylor’s farewell will understandably dominate the headlines, the Irish title winner believes his performance can ensure he gets collumn inches too.

“This all about Katie, when everyone is leaving they’re going to talk about Katie, her career and her farewell.

“But people are going to talk about Paul Ryan too. They’re going to talk about the show I put on. I know that’s going to happen. And that’s what I’m here to do. I’m here to show people that I belong to be here.”

It’s not just an oppurutinity the Jay Byrne mentored fighter plans to grab with both gloved hands it’s one he is very grateful to have.

Ryan, who has never been inside Croke Park, will now get the opportunity to walk through the stadium’s famous tunnel as a professional boxer. It’s something he never dreamed of because it’s something so precievably impossible it never crossed his mind.

“I never even thought about Croke Park because I just think it’s so big it never even seemed realistic, he added.

“Obviously, we needed Katie to do it. She’s the only person who could do it. You have your dreams of Madison Square Garden, the MGM. Even in later years, Saudi Arabia and stuff. So, you have all them pipe dream dreams, but Croke Park is just a different world.”

Ryan believes the significance of the occasion will make it even more special, while suggesting the opportunity may never be repeated.
