The Irish heavyweight that beat Tyson gives Kennedy advice ahead of Boston bout

Niall Kennedy goes into American clash tonight with words of advice from the man who retired Mike Tyson ringing in his ear.

The Gorey BC has spent the week in Boston has spent time with Kevin McBride, who defeated Iron Mike back in 2005 with Kennedy’s coach Pascal Collins in his corner.

Kennedy, who claims he is in the shape of of his life, said he  is ready to repay those who have shown faith in him this week and plans an impressive performance in Boston tonight.

The undefeated heavyweight fights for the fourth time as a pro in the House of Blues on the same card that Stephen Ormond, Steve Collins and TJ Doheny appear on.

Speaking to Irish-boxing.com Kennedy said,

“Kevin offered me great advice this week and I am grateful. He is a very humble giant and it was great to meet him. In fariness the reaction has been very positive over here it’s just up to me to repay Murphy’s Boxing and Packie for the opportunity I have been given,” Kennedy said.

“I am looking forward to the fight I am in best shape I have ever been in and excited about the chance.  I don’t wan’t look past this fight, but I want to get busy this year. Packie will call the shots and we will go from there.”
