Tyson Fury retracts retirement claim after just 176 minutes
In what should perhaps come as unsurprising news, Tyson Fury has revealed that his ‘retirement’ announcement earlier today was merely a hoax.
The current WBA and WBO heavyweight champion looks set to be stripped of his belts, and may face a ban, following his withdrawal from his refixed rematch with Wladimir Klitschko on October 29th and the subsequent revelation that he had recently tested positive for recreational drug cocaine.
Fury’s ‘retirement’ today lasted a grand total of 176 minutes.
The situation regarding Fury’s belts looks set to become clearer in the coming days.
Today’s episode mirrors an incident earlier this year where Fury claimed he had been knocked down thrice in sparring by a light heavyweight before revealing that it was just a prank.
Fury recently tweeted the following, retracting his retirement claims:
Hahahaha u think you will get rid of the GYPSYKING that easy!!! I’m here to stay. #TheGreatest just shows u what the Medea are like. Tut tut
