Spencer wants to make Lindsay Choi

Spencer Fearon signaled his intentions to make a Martin Lindsay Choi fight before the year is out.

The Mac Man makes his long awaited return to the squared circle on the English promoters ‘Shamrock Showdown II’ card this Friday, and the English promoter claims the only reason he put the Belfast fighter on the fight menu was to wet the appetite for a clash with the veteran Mongolian warrior.

Lindsay, who will fight a six rounder on Troxy in Limehouse hosted show, has already agreed to fight on Matchroom’s May 5 Belfast card and seems to content to fight on all three of Eddie Hearn’s proposed 2012 Irish Cards.

However, Fearon is determined to entice the University graduate into a clash with the popular Prizefighter winner.

“The reason we’ve got Martin Lindsay on the show is because potentially we would like to match him against Choi, we want to make this happen, we can make it on Premier Sports or we can make it on Sky Sports or even make it on World of Sport, but that fight has got to happen.

We wanted Choi-Lindsay for this show but his Lindsay’s people said no as they wanted a couple of warm up fights first, which I understand, but I want to make that fight happen, it’s a huge fight and the fans deserve to see a fight of this magnitude, that’s a great, great fight. I’m all about the fans so I will make this happen.”

Meanwhile Simon O’Donnell will warm up for the All Irish Prizefighter with a fight on Fridays card.
