Lucan United have made somewhat of a statement signing having added an Intermediate Cup finalist to their squad.
The Senior 1A side lost the decorated James Lee, who returned to Crumlin over the Summer, but have brought in talented midfielder Michael McLoughlin.
McLoughlin was one to watch as a youngster. He played underage with Cherry Orchard, even wore the crest of Manchester United in the Foyle Cup and had brief spells with Stoke and Charlton as well as playing for Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic in the reserve league.
The midfielder signed for Firhouse Clover from Newbridge last season and was part of the Clover side that came within seconds of winning the FAI Intermediate Cup at the Aviva earlier this Summer.
McLoughlin becomes the third high profile midfielder to leave the club over the Summer after Carl Forsyth and Mikey Doyle both joined reigning LSL Champions Bluebell United.
