Phil Sutcliffe Jr off to a winning start with MGM after dirty clash
Phil Sutcliffe Jr had a victorious debut tonight for MGM.
The Crumlin light welterweight was in action at the Greenbank Sports Academy in Liverpool on the inaugural MGM Liverpool show.
Succo took on 6’2″ Lithuanian light middle Edvinas Puplauskas on the ‘Genesis’ show on Merseyside and won via disqualification.
A scheduled six-rounder, Sutcliffe’s Baltic opponent survived until the fourth round before being turfed out by referee Darren Sarginson due to persistent head-butting
The win sees Sutcliffe improve his record to 11(7)-1(0), while Puplauskas falls to 3(2)-4(0).
The Dubliner is now aiming for two more fights before the end of the year.
