Paddy Barnes will be managed in the professional game by Macklin’s Gym Marbella.

The Belfast flyweight announced last week that he is to turn pro and is expected to feature on the Belfast Boxnation show at the Titanic Exhibition Centre on November 5th.

This morning it was revealed that 29 year old Barnes has signed a management contract with the Puerto Banús-based outfit, whom he had long been a target of.

On the choice, the double Olympic bronze medalist explained that “after the Olympics there was many offers on the table but being part of Team MGM was the natural choice and one I’m delighted with.”

“I honestly believe I have the ideal team to guide me to World title opportunities.”

MGM described how “Paddy is a special talent.

“To represent your country with such distinction is a reflection of the ability he possesses.”

“We anticipate Paddy will feature prominently on the World stage and we look forward to many great nights for Irish boxing moving forward.”
