Maidana issues McCloskey come get me call

Marcos Maidana has told Paul McCloskey to make him an offer he cant refuse if he wants to challenge for the Argentine’s WBA light welterweight world title.

Maidana blasted his way past Petr Petrov over the weekend knocking the Spanish based Russian down three times before finally registering a fourth round TKO in his first official defence.

Now having overcome his latest obstacle in front of his home crowd ‘El Chino’ has urged team ‘Dudey’ to get in touch if they want to get it one.

The reigning world champion revealed he has a decent relationship with Matchroom, McCloskey and McCloskey’s manager Francie McNicholl claiming positive talks where held previous.

McCloskey’s Twitter buddy said he is aware he has been heavily linked with the Dungiven stylist, who is fresh off a tense and exciting win over Breidis Prescott, but told team McCloskey to put their money where there mouth is and tempt him to Belfast with a decent financial package.

Speaking to Mirror Sport after career win 31 McCloskey’s Twitter buddy said.

“We’ve been in contact with Paul’s manager before and we’ve been reading that they want me to defend my title against Paul in Belfast. If they come with the right offer I have not problem in fighting there in December or January. I know Paul got a great win against Prescott but I wasn’t able to watch that fight yet as it was not brodcasted in Argentina. But like I always say I’m ready to fight anyone anywhere for the right money.”

One stumbling block for what could prove to the biggest fight to come to Ireland is massive American interest in a Maidana Erik Morales repeat.

Maidana won a majority decision over the faded Mexican in April, and with Morales’ win over Pablo Cano last weekend, there has been a lot of rematch talk.
