Conlan-Nelson & Tennyson-Walsh betting preview

Two Belfast bangers are on the title hunt tonight at the Copper Box in London.

Super flyweight Jamie Conlan challenges the unbeaten Anthony Nelson for the Commonwealth title, whilst featherweight James Tennyson challenges for Ryan Walsh’s British strap in what could be the fight of the night.

Conlan, who is looking to win his first recognised professional title, is a massive favourite against the South Shields fighter. ‘The Mexican’ is a best-priced 1/6 with Ladbrokes to claim the rainbow belt. Ladbrokes are also the first port-of-call for method of victory markets, offering 13/8 and 10/11 for a knockout and points respectively.

An upset victory for the defending champion can be had at 7/1 with A.McLean, while the draw is priced at 25/1 (general). For method of victory for Nelson, look to Paddy Power who are offering 16/1 for the early finish and 10/1 for a points win.

If the bookies have made their mind up regarding Conlan-Nelson, they certainly are split over the prospect of Tennyson and Walsh.

Norfolk’s Walsh enters as an ever-so-slight favourite. The champion, who began as an underdog, can be had at 5/6 with Paddy Power and Ladbrokes ahead of the clash. Method of victory markets come in at 3/1 for the stoppage (bet365) and 5/2 for a points win (Stan James).

‘The Assasin’ Tennyson hopes to add the British crown to his Irish and Celtic titles, and the power-puncher is 11/10 (general). A statement-making knockout win for the Irishman can be had at 5/2 with Boylesports. Best value for a points win comes from bet365 (9/2).

Best odds for the draw come in at 25/1 with Bwin.
