Watch highlights of Michael Conlan’s Garden party


Michael Conlan [6(5)-0] provided the entertainment at another Madison Square Garden showon Saturday night.

The 2015 World amateur champion capped a full year as pro with an impressive stoppage win.

Conlan stopped Hungary’s David Berna in The Theater St Patrick’s Day much to the delight of large support.

The  Olympic bronze medalist took his pro record to 6-0 exactly a year on from his debut at the same venue.

Conlan, who was fighting under the tutelage of Adam Booth for the first time as a pro, dropped the Magyar with a perfectly timed body shot in the first, but Berna beat the count and reappeared for the second.

The Belfast native dropped his foe again early in the second and the referee was eventually forced to call a halt to proceedings as Conlan swarmed in.
