Warren wants Conlan v Butler May day

Frank Warren wants to make the eagerly anticipated clash between super flyweight standouts Jamie Conlan and Paul Butler for May of next year.

The pair have been on collision course for a number of years, but with Conlan’s promoters MGM working closely with Warren and Boxnation of late the fight now seems inevitable.

Fans and indeed both fighters have called for the clash and it appears they will finally meet next Summer.

Belfast favourite Conlan fights in Dublin on February 6 while Butler is in WBO European action tonight and is hopeful of a February 13 fight if both come through unscathed expect them to fight in May.

“We’re looking to get that on at the end of May next year,” Warren told Boxingscene, while also revealed to IFL TV that the fight was on his 2016 wish list and he was confident it could be made.
