Sean Turner [7(5)-0] has been granted the step up in class he so desperately craves.

The big-punching MGM heavyweight announced tonight on social media that he will face tough English journeyman Paul Butlin [16(3)-22(9)-1] at the Roadstone Club on Friday.

‘Big Sexy’ headlines the February 5th card on the Naas Road and the 24 year old prospect faces a decent test when he headlines for the first time in front of his home crowd.

The 39 year old from Leicestershire has shared the ring with World title challengers Andrzej Wawrzyk, Dereck Chisora, Johann Duhaupas, Albert Sosnowski, and Johnathon Banks.

Butlin, the current BBBoC Midlands Area heavyweight champ has also previously faced 2012 Olympic gold medalist and Matchroom star Anthony Joshua – being knocked out inside two rounds back in 2013.

Butlin, who always comes to fight, has tasted victory against Irish boxers before having defeated Colin Kenna in Prizefighter back in 2008, as well as holding a win over honourary Irishman Moses Matovu. Indeed the wily journeyman will be looking to cause an upset this weekend against Turner.

Turner, who is looking slimmer and better than ever since he joined up with MGM, however will have other ideas and will be aiming for a statement-making stoppage against the respected hardman.

Sean Turner v Paul Butlin tops an exciting night of small-hall action at the Roadstone CLub. Also featuring on the card are Tyrone McKenna, Luke Keeler, Steve Collins Jr, Ian Tims, Ciaran Mullen, and JJ Metcalf. Very few tickets remain and can be both from the boxers involved.
