“I like-a fight with you” – Borat O’Sullivan challenges GGG

Spike O’Sullivan stripped down to his skimpies tonight to challenge unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

Golovkin, who was upgraded to WBC champ this week following to relinquishing of the strap by Canelo Alvarez, posted a message to his followers on Twitter today asking who they would like to see him fight.

Most called for a showdown with WBO 160lb titlist Billy Joe Saunders to bring together all four major belts, but Cork’s O’Sullivan has an alternative offer for the Kazakh ring king.

Ever the salesman, O’Sullivan posted a short clip of himself in a (suspiciously stuffed) mankini challenging Golovkin in the style of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat.

While this isn’t the first time O’Sullivan has stated his willingness to fight GGG, it is certainly the most eye-catching.

Admittedly, and we’re sure even Spike would agree, a fight with one of boxing’s biggest stars is highly unlikely, but the Leesider certainly gave us a laugh on a Friday evening.

As some Belfast fans may also remember, this isn’t the first time an Irish boxer has donned the infamous green mankini.
