Irish boxers secure new fight dates

A flurry of fight dates have been announced for Irish boxers.

Two Celtic Warriors Gym fighters have been added to the inaugural ‘It’s A Bout Boxing Ireland’ card at the National Stadium on Saturday April 1st.

Allan Phelan [7(4)-2(1)-1] had to wait 838 days for his fight date last month, but will only have a gap of 36 days until his next one with the Newbridge featherweight having a slot on the televised card confirmed.

Also appearing on the Dublin bill will be local light middleweight Bernard Roe [4(0)-0]. The talented all-rounder has had a few injury niggles which have stalled his activity recently, but he will finally return for the first time since last June in just over three weeks time.

The card in the capital will also feature Christina McMahon, Gerard Whitehouse, Jake Hanney, Carl McDonald, Lynn Harvey and Rohan Date, alongside no less than five professional debutants – Reagan Buckley, Barry Barnes, Keane McMahon, John Joyce, and Dylan McDonagh.

Tickets for Táimid Laochra cost €45 (gallery) and €65 (ringside) and are available HERE or from the boxers involved (which would be the avenue we recommend).

Then two weeks later then there is another fight for Monaghan welterweight Larry Fryers [2(1)-0]. Lethal Larry will box on Saturday April 15th at the Cornwall Civic Complex in Canada. Here he will face Mexican Michell Polina [1(1)-2(0)-1].

First however the New York-based Clones boxer has a big fight on the undercard of Mick Conlan’s professional debut at the Theater at Madison Square Garden next Friday.
