Geale: Dennis Hogan has all the attributes to be world level middleweight

By Cathal Lynch, Australian correspondent for Irish-boxing.com

Daniel ‘The Real Deal’ Geale believes that Irishman Dennis Hogan has all the necessary attributes to compete at world level in the middleweight division. The three time middleweight champion of the world recently sparred with Hogan in preparation for a US showdown with Matthew Macklin – a fight that never went ahead as result of the show being cancelled – and he told Irish-boxing.com in Australia that he was impressed with what he saw of Hogan, who is the current domestic champ in Oz.

‘Sparring with Dennis was really good. He’s a fast, agile fighter and he looks like he could have a big future ahead of him. I had a little chat with him afterwards and he’s a nice kid; he has a good attitude and a strong work ethic. He has the ability to go far, if he works hard enough, it’s up to him’.

Flattering words from a boxer as respected as Geale, who is rumoured to be next in line for a crack at the indomitable Gennady Golovkin, but Hogan will know that words count for nothing when he takes to the ring again this Wednesday, May 21st.

The Kildare emigrant will be looking to extend his unbeaten record as a professional to nineteen as he squares off against David Galvin in a Brisbane bout to be televised live on Foxsports2 (Australia) at approximately 9pm local time (midday Irish time).

The fight will be available for live online streaming at the following link: http://www.vipboxoc.co/sports/tv-box.html#selected
