‘El Chacarero’ up next for Padraig McCrory

Padraig McCrory [16(9)-0] will face an Argentinian with upset potential on May 27.

‘The Hammer’ looks set to fight Diego Ramirez [25(6)-9(2)-1] on the undercard of Michael Conlan’s world title challenge to IBF title holder Luis Alberto Lopez at the SSE Arena next month.

The working class Belfast hero was initially meant to trade leather with Yamaguchi Falcão on the massive Top Rank and Conlan Boxing card, only for the Brazilian to get a shot at knockout artist David Morrell and is WBA regular on the Davies-Garcia card.

A fight with Matchroom’s Edgar Berlanga was then proposed, but the New Yorker now faces Jason Quigley in Madison Square Garden instead.

Frank Warren’s Mark Hefferon was then churned out as a next up for the Irish Boxing Awards Fighter of the Year by the rumour mill, however it’s South American opposition next for the IBO light heavyweight world title winner.

The fight has yet to be officially confirmed but serial news breakers International Boxing News are reporting it as done.

‘El Chacarero’ [The Farmer] isn’t as big a name as many had hoped for but the 28-year-old is a solid enough in terms of keep busy opponent and does have some upset previous.

When fighting down the scales he scalped former British welterweight champion Bradley Skeete and he dropped Stoke fan favourite Nathan Heaney before eventually being stopped.

Crumlin’s Willo Hayden has had an opponent confirmed for the card and will fight Christian Lopez Flores over six in his Irish debut.
