British title chance for Anto Cacace

Anto Cacace’s time in the boxing wilderness may be about to come to an end.

The Belfast man last fought in October, winning the Celtic super featherweight title with a final round knockout of the game Ronnie Clark, but has since parted ways with Cyclone Promotions and is currently a free agent.

However there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel for The Apache after the BBBoC ordered him to face George Jupp in a British title final eliminator by the end of November.

Londoner Jupp [13(4)-3(1)] was beaten in March in Mexico in a short-notice WBO ‘interim’ title bout against Miguel Berchelt.

Before that, Jupp shocked highly-touted prospect Mitchell Smith, and is also a Prizefighter semi finalist and former BBBoC Southern Area champ

Details of the when and the where may take a while to emerge, with purse bids not due until Wednesday, 10th August 2016.

However, one would assume that Frank Warren (if he has intentions of coming to Belfast with Conlan, Tennyson, and Fitzpatrick) will be interested in bidding for the clash.
