15 July 2010 – By Cormac Campbell

Declan Trainors professional debut will now take place on July 22 a week earlier than initially planned.

The former Irish Under 19 light-heavyweight champion, who is now based in Perth, had been preparing for a contest on July 26. However, he will now appear on the undercard of IBO lightweight champion Leonardo Zappavignas, 23-0 (15KO) next contest at Panthers Rugby League Club in New South Wales.

Speaking to irish-boxing.com, Trainor said the bout looked set to be at heavyweight – despite his plan to begin his career at cruiserweight.

Im boxing at heavyweight because the guy theyre hoping to match me with cant make crusierweight, he said.

Im giving away weight but I should be faster and smarter than him, he has one pro fight and one pro win.
