We will fight Hyland Jr anywhere anytime says Team Bates
There are challenges here in Ireland for Paul Hyland Jr claim Team Bates.
Entertaining lightweight prospect ‘Hylo’ pushed his record to 10-0 with victory in the Europa Hotel on Saturday night and has British champion Scotty Cardle in his sights.
The Belfast fighter is like his stable mates James Fryers and James Tennyson being lead down the British route by promoter Mark Dunlop, but Ciaran Bates promoter is keen on an all Irish dust up.
“Ciaran Bates versus Paul Hyland Jr would be a great fight,” Tony Davitt contacted Irish-boxing.com to say.
“Hyland is a good fighter and Mark is doing a good job with him, but he isn’t of Bates calibre. I hear them say there are no challenges in Ireland for them so they are looking at the British title. Well Bates is here in Ireland and can give him a good fight. We would fight him anywhere, anytime. It would be a great fight for the fans.”
Bates has won all five of his pro fights, but at 30 is already title-hungry and has expressed a desire to fight names as soon as possible.
However, as Hyland Jr is moving toward a British shot the fight looks unlikely to take place this year.
