Sinky Says

20 November 2009 – By Neil Sinclair

I was back in action on the undercard of Rogan vs Sexton II at the Odyssey and made it three wins out of three at the venue.

I was happy to do what I had to I was patient, picked my shots and it was a good stoppage. To be fair it was a bit of a mismatch, but it was great to get back on Sky TV and look impressive.

Id love to have a fight before Christmas but I dont think that will happen. But hopefully Ill get a slot on Paul McCloskeys undercard early in the New Year and hopefully Frank Warren will come back soon as well.

I want to start early in the New Year and keep active and build towards a title fight. Who knows where this journey will end.

There has been a roll of Irish fighters fighting for European titles recently. Paul McCloskey and Matthew Macklin have both done the business and I think Brian Magee can do it as well against Mads Larsen in January as well. Its a brilliant traditional title and is quite financially lucrative as well.

Id like to join that list and there has been talk of a fight with light-middleweight champion Ryan Rhodes. There has been talk of a fight with Rhodes even before he won the European title. Frank Warren hasnt promised anything, but if the time is right I believe it can happen.

Failing that, I would be happy to face British and Commonwealth champion Anthony Small or defend my Irish title against James Moore.

I have no injuries. I had a lower back injury last year that ruled me out of the Prizefighter and also the show in Craigavon. My mental approach has also improved and I think that has come across in the last two fights. Im doing things effortlessly now that before I wa struggling with. If you think too much about things, you wont perform.
