McCloskey ready for big night

26 March 2008 – by Cormac Campbell

Dungiven stylist Paul McCloskey says he is now in perfect condition for his mouth-watering clash with former World Champion Cesar Bazan on Saturday night.

The Letterkenny bill is all but a sell out and the home favourite has worked hard in the gym to shift any excess weight and niggling injuries.

Im in great condition now and I just cant wait until the night, he told Irish-boxing.com.

The bill which will be broadcast live on RTE and on a delayed basis on BBC Northern Ireland marks a notable step up in class for McCloskey who has genuine title ambitions for 2008.

Unfortunately, McCloskeys gymmate Stephen Haughian will miss the bill due to illness.

It had been suggested that the Lurgan man could return next month on the undercard of Bernard Dunnes comeback fight but manager and trainer John Breen has said that he doesnt believe his charge would be ready in time.
