Lee spars Klitschko

8 December 2010

Andy Lee will be looking to be on a fine performance this Saturday night against his Polish opponent, Daniel Urbanski , (19-5-3) at the SAP Arena, Mannheim, Germany.

Lee got some useful sparring with Wladimir Klitschko the IBF, WBO and IBO Heavyweight World Champion in training camp that will stand him in good stead ahead of Saturdays fight.

The Kronk fighter is totally focussed on his forthcoming fight, My preparation has gone well for the fight; Im looking forward to lacing up my gloves and taking care of business. Sparring and training with Wladimir really equips me and sharpens my focus for the fight.

Lee has fought 4 times already this year and has stretched his record to 24-1 with 18 wins coming by way of KO.

Emanuel Steward, Lees manager and trainer commented, I believe Andy is not just the best Irish middleweight in the world today, but also the most talented contender emerging and moving up the world rankings. The middleweight division is wide open at this time and Andy is in pole position to capitalise on this situation in 2011. I believe Andy Lee will be fighting for a world title next year.

The 26-year old Urbanski from Szczecin in Poland is a tough, experienced and durable opponent and is currently on a winning strike having won his last 7 bouts. The Pole will be looking to derail Lee ambitions to box for a European title in 2011.

Lee has an arsenal of punches to take his Polish opponent out early and his lethal body punch has recently been used with devastating results. Urbanski could be victim number 25 for the Irishman.
