Irish super middleweight champion JJ McDonagh has secured a break through title fight.
The Mullingar man will challenge for the WBO European title in London on the Date With Destiny Card in York Hall on June 4.
McDonagh will return to the venue were he recently out pointed Darren Cruise in an entertaining Irish title fight, York Hall to fight a yet to be named foe in a continental clash.
If McDonagh follows in the footsteps of the likes of Stephen Ormond and Jamie Conlan and buckles the title around his waist he will secure himself a WBO top 15 ranking.
That ranking makes him World title eligible and opens a pathway, albeit one with a lot of hurdles to overcome, toward ultimate glory.
Irish title hopeful Michael Devin will also appear on the card in a warm up before his Dublin debut on ‘The Future’ show set for the National Stadium on June 25.
