Headline fight for Kieran Farrell Promotions Belfast card confirmed

The headline fight for the first Kieran Farrell Promotions Belfast show has been confirmed.

‘A New Era’ takes place at the Devenish Complex in West Belfast on Saturday April 22nd, featuring seven fights.

As previously announced, Coalisland super feather Feargal McCrory [4(1)-0] will top the bill in an eight round fight, and it has been announced today that the Tyrone fan favourite will go up against one of Farrell’s own fighters.

The John Breen-trained McCrory will face Liverpool’s Jay Carney [4(3)-1(0)-2] in the headline fight.

Promoter Farrell said that the bout is a “great fifty-fifty fight, Feargal has the unbeaten record and Jay has the hunger. Boxer vs fighter, this is set to be a great fight.”

McCrory would defeat Gyula Tallosi last week in Belfast via fourth round disqualification, while Carney won last night on a Kieran Farrell show in Manchester. Neither have ever been scheduled for more than four.

30 year old ‘Bam Bam’ Carney, who spent some time on the Malta Boxing Commision circuit, has won two on the spin to bounce back from a rough period that saw him draw and lose to Graham Fearn, and draw with former Declan Geraghty opponent Dinars Skripkins.

Undercard support on the night will come from Daniel McShane, Mathew Fitzsimons, Joe Hillerby, Sean Magee, and a fight between Ger Healy and Tommy Carter.

Tickets for ‘A New Era’ are available from the boxers involved on the bill at the following prices: £20 (standing), £35 (unreserved seating), and £50 (reserved seating).
