Haughian refocuses after Bami withdrawal

Stephen Haughian will have to put all thoughts of Ted Bami out of his mind after the former European welterweight champion pulled out of their proposed clash on the undercard of Dunne vs Poonsawat on September 26.

Despite this, the Irish champion is excited about his upcoming appearance on the card.

“It is very disappointing, I saw Ted Bami in front of me but now I have to refocus, Haughian said.

“Whoever is in the ring is there so I will be ready for all possibilities. They are trying to get a replacement. Id say Brian Peters will try to get a good fight for me.

“Im sparring well with Neil Sinclair and Joe Rea and hopefully a good performance will put me in contention for a fight with John ODonnell.

“Paul (McCloskey) fights for the European title in November so hopefully I could fight for a title on that card, too.”
