Frampton vows to knock out ‘loud mouth American’

CARL Frampton has vowed to Spank the loud mouth Yank in the Odyssey Arena this coming Saturday.

The Belfast favourite makes the first defence of his IBF World title in the ‘Jackal’s Den’ against Chris Avalos and claims he will stop the American and make him eat his pre fight words in the process.

Avalos, who worked his way to both the WBO and IBF mandatory positions, comes to Belfast full of confidence -and hot air claims Frampton. The Californian has been telling anyone that would listen that he holds no respect for ‘The Jackal’ as a fighter and that he would dethrone the IBF ring king come February 28.

Frampton, however, stresses if anyone looks into the duos boxing back ground their is only one outcome they can predict, a home win.

The World champ says he is ready to do 12 rounds, but is expecting to have his foe out of there before the final bell.

“I genuinely believe I’m the best super-bantamweight in the world and if the fight goes 12 rounds, I have trained for that,” said the Belfast fighter, who has won all of his 19 professional bouts.

“But this guy’s just a little too hittable so I think I will knock him out at some point.

“I think he’s a good fighter – a typical kind of loud-mouth American.

“He likes to talk a lot. He has lost twice before against guys who aren’t as good as me.

“I never really pick rounds but I think this guy is there to be had. I reckon I have the power to knock him out.

“If I do not get rid of this guy I will be very surprised.

“But it’s a tough fight, this guy fancies himself. He is very cocky and arrogant. But I am more than ready for it.

“I know that my best beats his best but I have to be on the money on Saturday night.

“It doesn’t really take a scientist to work out what’s going to happen here.

“He’s said a lot, so hopefully he can back it up and then we will be in for a good fight,” added Frampton.
