Eddie Hearn: Dublin show is in the Works

MATCHROOM promoter Eddie Hearn is planning a Dublin fight night.

Rumours of a Dublin show have been flying around for the last few weeks, with Matthew Macklin indicating he is ready to bring big time boxing back to the capital.

There was suggestions the middleweight would top an August bill, which included a Prizefighter tournament, before challenging Sam Solimon for a World title in December.

The talk was then of a massive fight night which had MGM fighters Anthony Fitzgerald and Declan Geraghty on the undercard along with some other Dublin ticket sellers and prospects.

The counter argument was Sky Sports, who Hearn has an exclusive deal with, had no interest in returning to Ireland on cost grounds.

But it seems Hearn, who ran shows in Belfast with Paul McCloskey and Carl Frampton as headliners, and Sky are coming to Dublin as Hearn, who was in Spain with Macklin yesterday, confirmed via Twitter that a Dublin show was in the making.
