Tims praises Irish Trainer of the Year Collins

Ian Tims believes Pascal Collin’s fighters and not the recently voted Irish Trainer of the Year will be collecting awards and accolades over the next 12 months.

The Celtic Gym cruiserweight believes the likes of Ormond, Spike O’Sullivan, Karl Brabazon will translate the work done with Collins into ring success and ultimately titles.

The fighter, who lost out to Juho Haapoja in an EU title fight last Saturday night, claims the award given to the former Pro after journalists and respecting boxing pundits deemed him the best Irish coach of 2011 is well deserved.

“I would like to congratulate Pascal. He told us Spike won Irish Champion of the Year, but didn’t tell us he won the trainer of the year. I think it was well over due. What he has done with Spike, Stephen Ormond and myself over the last 18 months has been amazing. He is a great trainer. He has a good knowledge of boxing and comes from a good boxing family. I am confident we can go good places with Pascal and we could be winning belts and awards.”
