Sweeney ready to ‘Rock and Roll’ in long awaited debut

Waiting for Gary Sweeney’s debut has been akin to turning up to see your favourite musical artist live in concert bang on time yet having to wait three hours for them to show.
Friday the 13 probably isn’t the best date for a fighter who has date misfortune of late, but the younger brother of former Irish title challenger Micheal Sweeney says he is ready ‘rock and roll’ live on Boxnation tomorrow night.
The Galway man was set to punch for pay back in South Africa last year, but seen that fight fall through, before another two cards he was scheduled to box on went by the wayside.
It has been a frustrating period for the former heavyweight Seniro Champion, who will campaign at Cruiserweight as a pro, but he is excited to finally get the chance to put a win on his record when he fights in Bolton tomorrow night.
“It has been annoying not fighting but that’s boxing for you,” Sweeney told Irish-boxing.com
“I can’t wait just to get in there on Friday and I am pretty excited about fighting.
.
“Im going to show everyone what I’m all about. I’m gonna to rock and roll on Friday 13th
“I don’t like making predications people will just have to wait and see what I do on fight night,” he added before expressing content with his training camp.
“Camp has been very good, sparring has been very good the brother Michael has put a lot of work in to me the last couple weeks and hopefully the benifits will be on show Friday.”
