Craigavon Show Latest

JUNE 23 Press Release

Stephen Haughian has a new opponent in Poland’s Arek Malek for his return to the ring on Saturday night at Craigavon Leisure Centre, after Ballyclare’s Willie Thompson was forced to pull out with a hand injury.
Former European light-welterweight title challenger Barry Morrison was offered the fight but turned down the chance to face the Irish welterweight champion. Haughian is naturally disappointed that he will not be defending his Irish title but his coach John Breen says he will be just as focused.
“Stephen has to stay focused and do a good job. We want a re-match with Celtic champion Kevin McIntyre in his next fight so he needs to put in a top performance and I’m sure he will. I’m hopeful that McIntyre will come here to face Stephen.”
Also on the bill is Commonwealth Games gold medallist Eamonn O’Kane against Belfast man Tommy Tolan at middleweight and flyweight prospect Jamie Conlan faces Delroy Spencer.
There will also be an exciting battle between two Belfast men making their debuts – Marc McCullough and Eddie Nesbitt.
