New fight date for busy Jay Byrne

Dubliner Jay Byrne [2(1)-0] has had a second February fight date confirmed.

The Loughlinstown welter is scheduled to appear on the February 4th MHD Promotions show at the Europa Hotel in Belfast, and it has been tonight confirmed that Byrne will also feature on the Red Corner Promotions show set for the National Stadium on February 25th.

Not only will Byrne box for the fourth time as a pro in Dublin, he will also fight in his first six-round contest.

The 30 year old is looking to be progressed quickly in the pro game, and also hopes to have a third quickfire date confirmed soon.

Red Corner Promotions stated that “Jay will take a step up in what will be a six roound battle against a very game and fan-friendly opponent.”

The opponent for Byrne, along with the rest of the card, will be confirmed in the near future. The four previously announced fighters on the bill are Jake Hanney, Allan Phelan, Connor Coyle, and Noely Murphy.
