Crank Whitehouse cruises to Celtic Clash 3 stoppage

Crank Whitehouse stepped up to eight rounds tonight with minimum fuss

The Balbriggan welterweight was in action in one of the chief support bouts on the Celtic Clash 3: Building Champions’ bill and dominated.

Whitehouse took on Slovakian Gergo Vari and was in complete control from the first bell until

The Fingal 22 year old patiently stalked Vari from the off, stamping his authority on the bout immediately with vicious body shots.

The journeyman opponent retreated into his shell quickly as Whitehouse rolled forward relentlessly.

There was nothing at all coming back from the Slovak, and the bout was eventually stopped in the fourth round as Whitehouse continued to reign in unanswered shots.

The win sees Whitehouse improve to 7(2)-0, while the dominated Vari drops to 21(7)-20(10)-1.

The win grants ‘Crank’ Irish title eligibility, and the Bracken youngster is keen to fight a domestic opponent at the earliest convenience.
