How to Watch Irish Boxing’s Friday Fight Nights

Ireland plays host to two relatively star-studded bills tonight.

Belfast says goodbye to what has been another action packed and successful year for the sport in the European capital of boxing with a show at the Titanic Exhibition Centre.

At the time, there is a major card out West, with boxing returning to Mayo and the terrestrial TV cameras will be rolling at the Royal Theatre, Castlebar.

The ‘Homecoming’ bill will be topped by Ray Moylette and the local favourite will be hoping to secure a world ranking with victory in what promises to be an exciting WBC International Silver lightweight title fight versus Chrstian .

Providing support for the World Youth and European Championships gold medal winner will be none other than Spike O’Sullivan. The Cork fighter, who last appeared on the undercard as the massive Golovkin-Canelo 2 bill, fights for the first time as a light middleweight and begins step one of a path he believes will see him realise his world title dream.

Castlebar also plays host to the return of Last Man Standing winner Roy Sheehan as well as the heavily fancied Luis Garcia, a fight for Irish light middleweight champion Craig O’Brien and more.

The fights will be broadcast live on TG4 with coverage starting at 8:30pm and running until 11:30pm.

Máire Treasa Ní Cheallaigh will present proceedings while Seán Bán Breathnach and Kenneth Egan will provide ringside commentary.

Punditry on the night will be provided by former unified bantamweight champion Ryan Burnett, middleweight contender Jason Quigley, Olympian Darren O’Neill and former light middleweight world title challenger Seán Ó Mainnín.

For those away from a TV, live streaming of the bill is available HERE.

Also this evening, in Belfast, Conrad Cummings tops a card that includes some of Ireland’s most fancied prospects.

‘Mr Dynamite’ was due to face Brian Rose it what would have proved a high profile headliner, but takes on unbeaten Hungarian Ferenc Berki.

Most importantly for the Tyrone man, the WBO European title remains on the line and if he can win back a belt he lost after points defeat to Luke Keeler he sets up a very interesting 2019.

Others hoping for a big 2019 are the likes of BUI and BBBofC Celtic title winner Paddy Gallagher, emerging lightweight Gary Cully, the returning Philip Sutcliffe Jr, recent title challenger Steve Collins Jr, Padraig McCrory, Sean McComb and debutant Stephen Webb.

The Titanic Exhibition Centre hosted fight night can be viewed online via YouTube channel IFL TV and is scheduled to start at 6:00pm
