Weekend Preview: June 30th-July 2nd

There are Irish boxers in action all over the globe this weekend, with fights scheduled in America, Australia and England.

Cork welterweight Noely Murphy [6(2)-0] is first up on Thursday night at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut. The Leesider boxes Albanian Afrim Mema in a six-rounder.

On Saturday morning Down Under, Dubliner Darragh Foley [8(6)-2(0)] moves up to light welterweight in search of revenge against Filipino Joebert de los Reyes who inflicted his first career defeat on him. Headlining a show at Club Punchbowl just outside Sydney, the ten round bout is also for the WBA Oceania title.

On the undercard there is also an appearance from Galway’s Gearoid Clancy [5(1)-3(0)] who takes on Nort Beauchamp over ten rounds.

Finally on Saturday evening there is the return of Phil Sutcliffe Jr [9(6)-1(0)] who is back in the ring following his short-notice loss to European #2 Anthony Yigit. Succo is in action at the Oldham Leisure Centre and faces Nicaraguan Geiboord Omier
