WATCH: Video of a young Katie Taylor cutting down opponent in underage football match

Eddie Hearn claimed earlier this year that Jessica McCaskill’s pre fight talk had for the first time ever inspired real sporting spite in the always polite Katie Taylor.

Well the Matchroom boss obviously hasn’t seen the video doing the rounds online at present.

Before Taylor [8(4)-0] was making her name as an all-time boxing great the reigning WBA lightweight World champion was known as a talented footballer.

The Bray boxer represented Ireland eleven times and her wonder goal in green versus Hungary has been doing the rounds online for a number of years now.

However, a new video has emerged from Taylor’s underage days with Newtown and, rather than show the skill she was renowned for, it shows a competitive and even vengeful side to the Irish fight legend.

Obviously unhappy with being beat down the line Taylor chases back and gets revenge on the boy that got past her.

Watch the scything tackle below:

The Wicklow fighter enjoyed the flashback and replied:

Taylor heads into 2018 hoping to tackle some big boxing challenges. A unification clash with IBF champion Victoria Noelia Bustos [18(0)-4(0)] looks set for Dublin in the Spring and then sights will be set on the remaining belts in the division or moving up for further conquests.
