WATCH: “The Most Passionate Fans in the World” take over Warrington-Frampton weigh-in

We have a fight!

Josh Warrington and Carl Frampton both came in under the limit ahead of their IBF featherweight title fight tomorrow night in Manchester.

The pair took to the scales tasked with making the nine-stone weight limit at the Manchester Centre convention hall in the heart of the city and both came in under the 126lbs maximum in front of a lively atmosphere.

As challenger, Frampton [26(15)-1(0)] was first up and tallied 125.8lbs (8 stone, 13lbs, 14oz), saluting the vocal travelling support.

Warrington [27(6)-0] was next up and the Leeds champion registered 125.6lbs (8 stone, 13lbs, 9oz) as ‘The Ulster Boys’ chant rang around the hall.

Afterwards the two engaged in an animated face-off with plenty of unheard words spoken but it all seemed to be relatively good natured with the fighters shaking hands and embracing to close.

Being interviewed immediately afterwards, Frampton paid tribute to the Belfast fans that had made the trip across.

The venue, which stands on the site of the old G-Mex Centre where Barry McGuigan saw his career end, was dominated by Frampton fans.

Admittedly, considering the proximity, most Warrington fans will not travel to Manchester until tomorrow but, still, the support was firmly in favour of ‘The Jackal’ today.

Blown away, Frampton said “to be honest, where we are, I know a lot of people from Belfast are coming over tomorrow as it’s so close to Christmas.”

“I expected the crowd to be more pro-Josh Warrington today but, listen to this, unreal!”

“The support I have is amazing, I’m the best supported fighter on the planet, I am telling you.”

“The amount of people I bring to Vegas and New York, these are the most passionate fans in the world and they’re going to let themselves be heard on Saturday night.

“Go on the Boys!”
