WATCH LIVE: Irish duo go for bronze at European Youth Championships

Two Irish boxers will look to guarantee bronze at the European Youth Championships in Turkey today.

Limerick light welter Paddy Donovan and Sligo middleweight Jordan Myers will both be looking to follow Galway welter Gabriel Dossen into the semi finals this afternoon.

First up, in Ring B at 2:00pm Irish time, is team captain Donovan.

The OLOL wonderkid has scored two stoppages thus far, but now faces home favourite Tugrulhan Erdemir in a repeat of their 2015 World Junior final – which Erdermir edged. The Turk then won 2016 World Youth gold in his first year in the age group.

Sligo slugger Jordan Myers has had two wars to reach the quarters at middleweight. The 2013 European Schoolboys gold medalist will face Serbian Djozdic Buksic to guarantee bronze at around 2:45pm in Ring A.

Buksic received a bye to the Last 16 where he defeated Sweden on a split, it was his first win at a major international tournament following numerous first round eliminations over the years.
