Watch – Donnelly registers first career stoppage via perfectly placed body shot

Steven Donnelly registered his first pro stoppage win in the Ulster Hall on Friday night.

The MTK fighter took out Edwin Palacios on the undercard of Ryan Burnett’s successful ring return.

‘The Donn’ was taking a step up in class in his fifth outing and his first for seven months, but moved up the ladder with relative ease.

After dominating a fighter he was expected to beat, but an operator that generally asks questions of prospects, the Ballymena man pulled out a body shot that the Spanish based Nicaraguan couldn’t recover from.

Watch below as the Rio Olympian lands clean to the liver with and registers one of those delayed reaction body stoppages.

Donnelly revealed post the win that the finishing move was one he had been working on in the build up to the fight.

The proof of which is below.
