It was confirmed last week by ESPN that Carl Frampton would return to the ring on August 10 on the top of a Top Rank bill.

Now, a week later Boxingscene have revealed the venue.

‘The Jackal’ had confirmed that August 10 date would be on the East Coast prompting a lot to predict a return to New York.

The bout will the Belfast stars third in America. The Jamie Moore-trained fighter debuted Stateside in Texas where he got up off the floor to out point Alejandro Gonzalez Jr in July of 2015 before defeating Leo Santa Cruz a year later in New York. The Mexican got revenge six months later in Las Vegas.

The bout will also be the 32-year-old’s first since his defeat to IBF world champion Josh Warrington last December.

Post that defeat the Top Rank fighter considered retirement, but has since stressed his belief he can win a world title.

Frampton will be the second Irish fighter to top an ESPN+ bill in a week come August.

His fight comes just seven days after Michael Conlan faces Vladimir Nikitin at the Féile on top of a heavily Belfast influenced card.

Philly, which boasts a massive Irish community – the third biggest in America- was the venue for Katie Taylor and Jono Carroll fights in March of this year.

Taylor defeated Rose Volante to add the WBO world title to her collection while Carroll won plaudits if not the IBF title when he took on champion Tevin Farmer.
