Undercard fighters confirmed for Ryan Burnett Belfast World Title bill on Sky Sports

A major chunk of the undercard for Sky’s return to Belfast next month was this afternoon confirmed.

Ryan Burnett [16(9)-0] will challenge for the IBF bantamweight title on June 10th SSE Odyssey Arena, taking on champion Lee Haskins of Bristol.

Before today, the only confirmed name for the undercard was Lagmore lightweight Paul Hyland Jr [15(5)-0], but a whole host of names were announced today at the opening press conference at the Europa Hotel in Belfast.

Poleglass super featherweight and reigning Irish champion James Tennyson [18(14)-2(2)] will appear in a big fight, to be announced today or tomorrow, on the bill following the expiration of his Queensberry contract. The Assassin will now no longer be appearing on the May 27th ‘Celtic Clash’ bill in Dublin.

Coalisland super featherweight Feargal McCrory [5(2)-0], fresh off the back of his destructive win over Jay Carney, will feature.

East Belfast welterweight Matt Wilton [15(3)-0] will also be back in the ring as he steps up his chase for domestic titles.

Lenadoon welter Paddy Gallagher [10(6)-3(0)], who recently signed a managerial deal with MTK, will be back in action following his British title eliminator loss to Tamuka Mucha last year.

Finally, another MTK fighter, Derry super bantamweight Tyrone McCullagh [6(4)-0] will also feature on the card – his first appearance on a big television show.

A unspecified title fight was also confirmed for Paul Hyland Jr, who recently defeated Peter Cope on a Matchroom card in London.
