Ireland won’t be celebrating back to back Ultimate Boxxer victories as Sean Turner is no longer on the card.

The fighter who had promised to have any potential opponents gone in 30 seconds is himself gone from the career kick starting TV competition before it gloved off.

Having demanded a place in the Prizefighter style tournament the heavyweight had his wish granted.

The Shankill man was announced as a participant alongside seven other big me back in October and seemed confident he would collect the £16,000 winners prize, whilst picking up knockout bonuses en route to Golden Robe victory.

Indeed, there was a sizable number who felt ‘Big Sexy’ could do damage in the tournament and breath real life back into his career in the process.

However, it isn’t to be as the Irish heavyweight will no longer compete on the December 13 BT Sports broadcast card.

The tournament have yet to announce his withdrawal officially, but Turner wasn’t part of Friday’s big draw.

Irish-boxing.com understands the big punching fan attraction hasn’t been training in Ballyfermot, where he started camp with Pete Taylor, in recent weeks. The fighter himself has yet to officially confirm an injury.

We also understand the Ultimate Boxxer team were expecting Turner to compete and to be at Friday’s draw as recent as Wednesday.

It’s another frustrating blow for Turner, who has promised massively on occasion, but suffered a stop start career.

The former Irish amateur champion admits there have been times where he hasn’t helped himself , but he seemed to be just weeks away from a fight night that could have help him bury recent frustrations.

Ultimate Boxxer provided him with a chance to progress back up the ladder in a lucrative division.
