11 years and one day ago Kevin McBride shocked the World.

The little know big Irish man defeated all time great Mike Tyson on June 11 2005.

The Clones Collossus’ Kevin put his size advantage to good use, the 1992 Olympian bullied the faded ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ into a sixth round retirement and indeed permanent retirement on the PPV card in Washington.

There are those, who are quick to point out Tyson wasn’t close to ground level that peak at the time, but respected coach Pascal Collins, who worked McBride’s corner that night is adamant it remains ‘the biggest win In Irish heavyweight history’

Speaking to Boxing News Online McBride labeled the night one the best of his life and claimed in 20 years time he will still be full of pride when talking about the win.

He also told how the Louis Suarez of Boxing nearly took a bite out of his nipple in frustration.

“I’d dreamt of this moment since I was a kid; I’d always said I’d love to fight Mike Tyson. And like I said at the time, I might be slow, but if I land on you, I have heavy hands. I spoke to Tyson in the sixth round. I said, ‘Is that all you’ve got?’

“I told him he was in trouble. But then he tried to bite my nipple off. I pulled back and his mouthpiece slipped off my nipple. Thank God he had the mouthpiece in, or I’d be the only guy in Ireland with just one nipple,” McBride told Boxing News Online.
