Two fights in a month – exciting prospect confirms second pro fight date

Paddy Donovan has had second pro fight date confirmed before he has even debuted.

The exciting Limerick prospect  last week announced his debut date. The Top Rank-signed Andy Lee-managed World Junior silver medallist will punch for pay on the Ulster Hall October 11 card.

Irish-boxing.com have been reporting since April with regard to the 20-year-old southpaw talent turning over – he confirmed he was making the move and joining Irish talents such as Carl Frampton, Ryan Burnett and Michael Conlan at Top Rank in June.

Donovan will show his wares to Irish fans next month before giving Scottish fans a glimpse of his stylish approach just over a month later.

Irish-boxing.com can confirm the Treaty County fighter will punch for pay in Glasgow on November 16.

Donovan appears on the undercard of an anticipated bout between Lee McGregor and Kash Farooq for the British and Commonwealth bantamweight titles.

It’s back to back #MTKFightNights, which means he will get to show his wares to an ESPN+ audience twice in just over a month.

Opponents have yet to be confirmed for exciting prospect, but should be announced over the coming week. It’s believed coach Lee is looking for specific kinds of tests for a fighter who needs to learn but is said to have such talent he needs a challenge.

In his first interview as a pro boxer, Donovan promised  Irish-boxing.com excitement right from the off.

“It won’t be as flashy as it was in the amateurs because sometimes in the amateurs I didn’t have to really perform the way I could perform. In the pros it will be a different story.

“I’m going to have a lot of knockouts and, to be honest, I’m looking forward to smashing people up. I like to get the job done, showcase my boxing skills, be flexible, bring everything to the table, and after I do all that I’m sure I’ll get the stoppages and the big wins.”

Luke Keeler also appears on the Glasgow card as he looks to closes in on a world title shot. The Ballyfermot middleweight’s opponent has also yet to be confirmed.
