‘The only sure way never to get a belt is to quit’ Lynn Harvey confirms ring return

Lynn Harvey will return to the ring in Spain on July 6.

After her EBU strawweight title defeat in Madrid this March ‘The Hunter’ told Irish-boxing.com she was in no mood to retire, still held a European title dream and was considering a promotional offer from Boxing Club Promotions.

The Spanish outfit took a real shine to the 37 year old despite the fact she was stopped by their charge Catalina Diaz  on their show.

It seems the parties have held more serious talks over the last month and the Kilbarrack native looks set to sign with promoter Jose Castro.

Pen has yet to be put to paper, but the recent European title challenger has agreed to fight in Spain on July 6 and speaking on social media confirmed she may sign terms soon.

“Delighted to announce that i will be fighting again JULY 6TH in Spain.

“The defeat in my last fight has made little difference to most peoples faith in my ability and potential to make it to the top. I am still learning and evolving and luckily my confidence is at a stage where I know that and do not let defeat (in or out of the ring) knock me back.”

“Not only have José and Inaki from the Spanish promotions company asked me to come over to fight, but they have been impressed by me and are eager to sign me as their own fighter. Wheels are in motion to travel to Spain to sign papers soon,” she explains before revealing she won’t have an easy return and still holds European title aspirations.

“The July fight will be a tough one and I will need to work hard for the win. As usual my plan is belts. I will be looking to have another crack at the belt soon as possible after this fight . The only sure way to never get a belt is to quit.”
