Tenth Irish fighter confirmed for ‘Frampton Reborn’ bill

A tenth Irish fighter has been confirmed for the big BT Sport bill in Belfast next month.

Frank Warren runs ‘Frampton Reborn’ at the SSE Odyssey Arena on Saturday November 18th, with Carl Frampton making his long-awaited return to the ring against Horacio Garcia and Jamie Conlan challenges IBF super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas.

Tonight Shankill featherweight Marco McCullough [17(10)-4(3)] has been confirmed for the card as he makes his return from a British title loss earlier this year.

The 27 year old Ulsterman was defeated by Ryan Walsh in May, being stopped in the eleventh by the Norfolk boxer who retained the Lonsdale belt outright it was his third defence.

While it was a second domestic title defeat for McCullough, who was stopped by Isaac Lowe for the Commonwealth belt in 2015, the Belfast boxer’s stock arguably rose in the aftermath following a game performance that was the biggest test of Walsh’s reign.

McCullough had been due to return to the ring last month on the Ginley Promotions ‘Danger at The Devenish’ card, but was withdrawn from the show on fight week.

The fight is the twelfth confirmed for the ‘Frampton Reborn’ bill thus far.

Also on the undercard next month will be a rematch between Declan Geraghty and Jono Carroll, as well as appearances from Paddy Barnes, Gary Cully, Steven Ward, David Oliver Joyce, and Lewis Crocker.

There will also be international action on the card too, with WBO bantamweight champion Zolani Tete defending his belt against fellow South African Siboniso Gonya, an English super middleweight title fight between Darryll Williams and Lennox Clarke, and an appearance from Liverpool heavyweight Alex Dickinson
