Tennyson: I need to perform in Tallin to keep alive British title hopes

James Tennyson is adamant his path to British title glory won’t hit a pothole in the home of free public transport tonight.

The 22 year old has headed to Estonia along with stable mate James Fryers in a bid to gain on the road experience and fights in Seaplane Harbour, Tallin tonight.

Next up for ‘Tenny’ is a mandated British title eliminator with Aberdeen’s Darren Traynor providing he overcomes Sergejs Logins (10-7-1) in a scheduled six rounder.

The BBBofC Celtic featherweight champion would be confident of victory despite being on foreign soil, but knows the importance of a good performance and a win ahead of such an important clash with Traynor.

“I am closing in on a British title shot, so I have to win here and look good doing it,” Tennyson told the Belfast Newsletter.

“Coming to Estonia has taken me out of my comfort zone, but that is a good thing and I am looking forward to the challenge.

“It looks like a great venue and I can’t wait to get started.”

Fellow British title hopeful Fryers is also in action in the Estonian capital and is determined a year which he has started to make serious waves with a splash at the harbour.

The Mac Man, who takes on Ruslans Berdimuradovs said,

“I want to end this year on a high. I have been busy this year and I plan to make it five wins out of five in 2015,” he said.

“Everything is going well and I am looking forward to putting on a good performance.”
