Summer Brawl – New Belfast show confirmed

Another pro show has been confirmed for the Irish boxing schedule.

Following the success of the ‘A Night To Remember’ card at the famous Ulster Hall last month, MHD Promotions have this evening announced their second bill of 2019.

A card had been provisionally set for the end of the month but was postponed due to an injury to Ronnie Clark and, now, ‘Summer Brawl’ will take place at Belfast’s Europa Hotel on Saturday May 18th.

Four fighters are currently confirmed for the dinner show – James Tennyson, Paul Hyland Jr, Feargal McCrory, and Cathy McAleer – all in six-round contests.

Poleglass lightweight Tennyson [23(19)-3(3)] was due to feature on the ‘Clash of the Titans’ bill in Dublin this month but was forced off with a minor injury and the former Irish, European, and Commonwealth super featherweight champion will return here while Lagmore’s Hyland [20(7)-1(1)] continues his rebuild towards titles on the wide-open 135lbs scene.

Coalisland’s McCrory [10(4)-0] will be dropping back down to super featherweight following his temporary step-up to enable an Irish title fight with Karl Kelly which he won via ninth-round stoppage. Finally, his stablemate McAleer [2(0)-0] will make the step up to six rounds following two tough fours.

Tickets for the night will be available from next week and are priced as followed: £40 (unreserved), £45 (reserved), £50 (ringside), £80 (VIP Dinner)

Opponents for the bill will be announced in due course.

The show will be the fourth in Ireland of the year following ‘A Night To Remember’ last month, the MTK Global bill at the Ulster Hall on Friday March 29th, and the ‘Clash of the Titans’ card at the National Stadium on Saturday March 30th.

In addition, Boxing Ireland Promotions will run ‘Celtic Clash 8’ in Belfast on a to-be-confirmed date in May.
